Handwriting Heroes Review

Best Resources For Teaching
Letter Formation and Handwriting!

copyscape notice

The Handwriting Heroes program makes handwriting lessons interactive, fun, and easy to implement, with memorable animations, printables for hands-on practice, and editable resources.

Teachers and parents have minimal preparation to do - the resources are at your finger tips and ready to roll!

This awesome program is the brainchild of Cheryl Bregman, an occupational therapist who is an expert in helping children develop good handwriting skills.

I am reviewing this program because I think the multi-sensory approach it offers, is the best way to teach letter formations for a good start in handwriting skills!

I am an affiliate for Handwriting Heroes because I believe in their program. I will receive a small commission if you purchase through my links #Ad; however, this review is completely honest and my own initiative.

How Does Handwriting Heroes Work?

It is possible to teach your child all the correct letter formations in just 5 weeks, for 15 minutes a day, using Handwriting Heroes!

All the lower case letters of the alphabet have been divided into 5 groups according to how they are formed. The skydiver letters are taught first, as they start with a vertical line, and then the child moves on to the next group, with ongoing reviews of letters already taught.

15 minutes a day for 5 weeks to master the lower case letter formations, then 15 minutes a day of printing practice to consolidate the letter formations, learn capital letters, and learn how to correctly space letters and words on the page for confident handwriting.

Why Is Handwriting Heroes So Effective?

The multi-sensory approach really works!

Your child will watch the animations, hear the stories and the rhymes, and physically trace the letters. Because the stories tie into the actual way the letter is formed, your child can verbally repeat the story and recite the rhymes while tracing the letter, and this reinforces learning!

Still unsure? How about this - in the 2022/2023 school year, Handwriting Heroes#Ad received certification from Research-Based Design for Instructional Learning Products, and an ESSA Level 3 Badge - proving that this curriculum is evidence based and effective! Fewer than 1 percent of products used in schools have earned this certification!

As a homeschooling mom, I used a similar multi-sensory program (which is no longer available) and it is was incredibly effective in teaching my own kids to write (and read!).

As an occupational therapist, I can vouch for the research and techniques used, and use them myself in intervention settings.

I hope you have been inspired and motivated by this review.

I firmly believe that learning letters correctly from the very beginning can help to prevent many of the handwriting and letter reversal issues that OTs see every day, and so I recommend this program wholeheartedly.
