The Benefits of Baking With Your Kids May 12, 2020 |
The Benefits of BakingI have to say that this has been an unexpected series of newsletters! This “Benefits Of…” series has come about because we are all pretty much stuck at home with our kids, and as parents we do need some encouragement that the everyday activities we are doing at home really can be helpful for our kids. In March we looked at the benefits of playing with playdough, and in April, we looked at the ways kids can benefit from chores. This month, I am resurrecting an old page on the benefits of baking with your kids. From sifting flour to sprinkling cheese, and from rolling dough to measuring out ingredients, there are just so many ways to involve kids of all ages in the kitchen, even if they aren’t involved in the whole recipe from beginning to end. Some of the benefits of these activities include eye-hand coordination, hand strengthening, math skills and spatial perceptual skills, not to mention precious childhood memories! So pop over to my page to be inspired with all the photos and suggestions – and check out my free cookie recipe download to get you started!

That’s all for now – I hope it helps! May you and your families stay healthy and strong in the weeks ahead. Please feel free to share the newsletter with anyone you think will benefit from the information. All the best as you help the children in your life!
